Victoria Curea, MFT
Clinical Supervisor

Victoria began an internship at TMCC in 1998 where she worked with adult clients for over three years.  While working in a private practice setting she also completed an internship at The Center for the Study of Young People at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in 2003. For two years she co-facilitated therapy groups at TMCC for women and gay men.  Currently, she supervises the Annabelle Wasserstein Student Peer Counseling Program at Beverly Hills High School, where interns teach students a variety of counseling skills used to assist other teens in distress.  She coordinates the Intake and Assessment Program at TMCC in which interns are trained to interview prospective clients.  In 2006 she began supervising in the FACT (Family Adolescent and Child Therapy) Program.

Victoria graduated from Antioch University, Los Angeles, earning a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. She works from a psychodynamic perspective with private clients in her practice.  She has guest lectured to high school students about healthy coping skills and successfully making the transition from high school to college.  Combining an extensive background and understanding of the entertainment field with her counseling skills, Victoria frequently works with creative individuals.  She sees adults, couples, and families in her practice and has a particular interest in mood disorders, sexuality and gender, bereavement, life transitions, and blended families.

Richard Dunn, MFT, PhD
Clinical Supervisor

Richard trained at TMCC as an intern from 1976 thru 1979. In 1982, he began working at TMCC as a supervisor. He returned in 1999 as a member of the staff.

Richard obtained his MFT license in 1978. In 1985, he earned a doctoral degree in clinical psychology at International College where he specialized in Jungian Psychology. He has been a supervisor at various agencies over the years and was a co-director of training at Counseling West in West Hills. Currently, Richard supervises interns at the Center. Richard is married and has one daughter.back to staff index

Jessica Herzog, PsyD
Clinical Supervisor

Jessica is the coordinator for the Mindful Parenting program. This involves individual supervision of predoc interns, group supervision of mindful parenting groups and child case consultation, as well as together with the coordinator, address the overall needs of the mindful parenting program.

Anne Kellogg, MFT
Crisis Response Team Coordinator

Anne is the coordinator of the Crisis Response Team Program.

She earned her Masters degrees (Counseling Psychology, and Marital and Family Therapy - Clinical Art Therapy) from Loyola Marymount University and specializes in sexual trauma, crisis intervention, and working with youth. Other areas of interest are chemical dependency, domestic violence, and public speaking. Anne also has a private psychotherapy practice.

Andrew Lee, MD
Staff Psychiatrist

Andrew is the Staff Psychiatrist for children, adolescents, and adults SUNY Stony Brook Medical School. Adult Psychiatry at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Currently in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at UCLA, graduating in June 2007.
Therapists refer cases to me for psychiatric evaluation, which may include medication. Treatment may be focused on depression, mania, psychosis, ADHD, anxiety, substance abuse, and trauma. In addition to my work at UCLA, I also see patients privately for education, therapy, and medications.

LuNel LeMieux, MA
Community Circle Coordinator

LuNel was previously on special assignment to TMCC from the Beverly Hills Unified School District and is currently part-time staff as coordinator and supervisor of the Community Circle Program.

Her primary interest is in promoting and developing programs for early intervention of mental health problems in the school population. She is also a Tribes Trainer for the Center for Human Development in Lafayette, California. LuNel has a Master's degree in Educational Psychology.

David Merrill, MD/PhD
Staff Psychiatrist

David Merrill, MD/PhD, Staff Psychiatrist. Dr. Merrill studied psychology and molecular cell biology as an undergraduate at UC Berkeley. He then completed the MD/PhD Medical Scientist Training Program at UC San Diego, earning a PhD in the Neurosciences, focusing on learning and memory in aging. Currently, Dr. Merrill is a resident psychiatrist at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, with interests in general adult, women's and geriatric psychiatry.

Lorraine Rose, PhD
Associate Clinical Director

Lorraine joined TMCC in July 1996. As Associate Clinical Director she is involved in program administration and development, oversees the doctoral intern program, and provides supervision for MFT, MSW, and pre-doctoral interns. She also coordinates the couples track.
Lorraine earned her masters degree and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles. She maintains a private practice in Beverly Hills and Malibu and specializes in the areas of depression, personality disorders, HIV and AIDS, perinatal and health concerns, gay and lesbian issues, and issues of abuse. She treats individuals, couples, and families. Her area of interest is psychoanalytic/psychodynamic psychotherapy with an emphasis in object relations.
Lorraine has also had a career as a Registered Nurse including critical care, emergency room, and more recently, labor and delivery. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, biking, gardening, cooking, and traveling.

Marc Sanders, PhD
Group Therapy Program Coordinator and Clinical Supervisor

Marc completed his pre- and post-doctoral training at TMCC, participating in the individual, group, and family/couples therapy programs. He also participated as a staff supervisor for The Maple Counseling Center's Crisis Response Team for two years. Marc continues his association with the Maple Center on staff as the Group Therapy Program coordinator and as a clinical supervisor.

Marc earned his Masters degree and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego. He is a Clinical Psychologist working from a psychodynamic perspective with individuals and couples in private practice. His interests include group therapy, grief and loss issues, relationships, trauma, anxiety and mood disorders, and couples therapy.

Mouget Sarebanha, MA, PsyD
Clinical Supervisor

Mouget earned her BA in Psychology from Pepperdine University. While she was working towards her bachelor's degree she interned at Camarillo State Hospital and Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. Upon completion of her Master of Arts degree from Antioch University she enrolled at California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, pursuing her doctorate degree. While she was earning her masters degree she worked at Tarzana Treatment Center. During her doctorate program she interned at Valley Community Clinic, Glen Roberts Child Study Center, and at The Maple Counseling Center. She completed a two year post doctorate training at the Wright Institute of Los Angeles.

Mouget maintains a private practice in Beverly Hills specializing in child, adult, and couples psychotherapy. Her training is in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with an interest in object relations theory. She is married and enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities and traveling.

Astrid Schwartz, MFT
Training Program Director and Senior Peer Program Co-Director

Astrid began her association with TMCC in 1983 as an MFT intern before completing her MA work at Antioch University. She has been affiliated with TMCC as a licensed professional since 1986. As Training Program Director, she coordinates, develops, and schedules the ongoing training of the first-year interns. She also is a group supervisor for MFT interns. With Carol Katz, she co-coordinates the Senior Peer Counseling Program by interviewing, training, and supervising the peer counselors. She is the Volunteer Supervisor Coordinator, a responsibility that involves the recruitment of qualified individual supervisors, managing their ongoing relationship to TMCC, and the resolution of any case management difficulties. She also coordinates and plans all trainings and continuing education seminars at the Center.

Astrid has a private practice in Beverly Hills and Hollywood. Her special interests are holocaust survivors and their families, cross cultural issues, human sexuality, and the emotional aspects of healing and creativity.

Astrid was a dental hygienist for twenty years, primarily in Beverly Hills. She has supervisedparaprofessionals at the University of Judaism in its Wagner Program. She has also served on the Board of the Los Angeles Free Clinic and was a trainer and supervisor of volunteers on the Free Clinic Help line. Astrid has been active in public education, co-founding the Hollywood High Alternative School, counseling students, and co-leading groups of teachers, parents, and students. She was also chairperson of a state-funded project to develop alternatives in education in the area.

Astrid was awarded certificates as an educator and counselor in the area of Holistic Health by California State University, San Diego and is a licensed accupressurist and massage technician. Astrid is married, has two adult children and three grandchildren.

Sharon Schwartz, Ph.D.
Director, Child and Family Services
Assistant Clinical Director

Sharon joined TMCC in 1999, initially a temporary appointment that has now grown into an almost 10 year association. As Director of Child and Family Services she oversees all programs that provide services to children and their families these include; the Mindful Parenting Program, the ACT program (school based and on-site child and adolescent treatment) and the Family Therapy track. Sharon provides individual and group clinical supervision and training to the doctoral psychology interns and to interns in the Family Therapy track.

Sharon earned her masters and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Cambridge Graduate School of Psychology. She maintains a private practice in Sherman Oaks and Beverly Hills where she utilizes a psychodynamic/attachment orientation in the treatment of affective disorders, couples issues, infertility, pre and post partum concerns, and the challenges of adolescents and their families. When not working, Sharon enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, hiking and playing with her golden retriever, Ruby.

David Singer, MA
Crisis Response Team Supervisor

David is the newest supervisor with TMCC's Crisis Response Team (CRT). He responds to calls from area police and fire agencies, helping survivors of traumatic events cope with their initial shock and powerful emotions. He also helps train new Crisis Response Team volunteers, and his goal for the next year is to help boost the CRT's public profile. Previously David served with the LA City Crisis Response Team.

David is a registered Marriage and Family Therapy intern, working in private practice in the Westchester-Airport area. He specializes in growth-oriented psychodynamic psychotherapy and crisis intervention. He also serves as Student-Intern Representative to the Los Angeles chapter o the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

Susan Spiegel, PhD
Clinical Supervisor

As coordinator of the Family, Adolescent, Child Training Program, Susan is responsible for supervising and training interns who are working with students in the Beverly Hills schools and who are seeing families and children at the Center.

Susan has her PhD from the California Institute from Clinical Social Work (CICSW). She was the Director of the Institute’s Psycho-Social Treatment and Training Program and currently serves on the Board of CICSW and as a Clinical Consulting Faculty member to doctoral students.

Susan has a private practice in Beverly Hills with an emphasis on psychodynamic therapy withadolescents, adults and couples.

Adrienne Weise, MA
Tutorial Coordinator

Adrienne has a Master of Arts degree from Tufts University in Secondary Education and English, and a BA from BostonUniversity. She taught honors English at Lexington High School in Massachusetts and twelfth grade English at Northern Valley Regional High School in Ole Tappan, New Jersey.

In addition to tutoring kids with special needs over the course of her travels, she also had a double career as a talk show host and actress (Two on the Town on CBS TV in New York) whereshe served both as on camera talent as well as a TV producer (AM Los Angeles, The Mike Douglas Show). Other hosting credits include Manhunt Live with Patrick Duffy, The Rock n' Roll Evening News, CNN's Showbiz Today, PM Magazine, You Asked For It, and a recurring role on As the World Turns.

Harold Young, LCSW
Clinical Director

Harold has been with TMCC since August 1985. As Clinical Director, Harold is responsible for all clinical programs at the Center, the upervision of the professional staff, and program development. Additionally he provides training in various psychotherapeutic areas. He trainsand supervises interns in assessment and diagnosis, directs the MSW program, and supervises the Center's emergency services. His clinical interests are in psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapy. He acts as the chief clinical liaison for the City of Beverly Hills.

Harold earned his Master of Social Welfare degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. He has worked with severely emotionally disturbed adults and their families in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Harold has a private psychotherapy practice and offers individual and couple psychotherapy and works with adolescents. Harold is married, has two children, and is a Dodgers fan.

Joe Davis, MFT
Clinical Supervisor

Joe is the Assistant Coordinator/Clinical Supervisor in the Intake and Assessment Program. He trained as an intern for his MFT hours at TMCC and The Center for the Study of Young People at Cedars-Sinai Hospital after receiving his M.A. degree from Antioch University. He also trained at TMCC for his pre-doctoral hours and is currently a PhD candidate at Pacifica Graduate Institute.

Joe is in private practice in Beverly Hills where he works with individual adults, adolescents, couples and groups from a psychodynamic perspective. His areas of special interest include depression, anxiety, issues of grief and loss, relationship building, group therapy, and working with people involved in the creative arts. Joe also holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Cinema from the University of Southern California, and has produced several short dramatic and non-fiction films.

Joyce Agyin
Event Coordinator

Joyce joined TMCC in June 2006 as the Executive Assistant. In February 2007, she was promoted to Events Coordinator. Joyce is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Center’s events. Joyce has a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Talladega College and will be attending American Jewish University, formally know as the University of Judaism, to obtain her MBA in Non-Profit Management.

Kelly Kong
Finance/Accounting Analyst

Kelly joined TMCC in May 2004. She is responsible for payroll, accounts payable and receivable, preparing budgets and all other aspects of finance management. Kelly earned her MBA from Pepperdine University in 2002 with a concentration of Finance.

Clinical Administrative Assistant

Mariam is responsible for the client insurance billing and payment collection and does miscellaneous clerical duties as requested by the finance manager. She also prepares the daily and miscellaneous deposits and takes the deposits to the bank. Mariam graduated from UCLA with a BA in Political Science.

Nick Mayorkas
Front Desk Receptionist

Nick Mayorkas was born and raised in Habana, Cuba. All of his elementary and high schooling took place in Cuba as well. Nick received his BA and MBA from colleges in the United States; he subsequently returned to Cuba to establish himself in business there.

In 1960, a year after Fidel Castro came into power in Cuba, Nick left the country with his wife and two eldest children. They arrived in Miami and lived there through 1963, when they decided to move on and start a new permanent life here in the United States. They established themselves in Southern California and Nick was an executive in the manufacturing end of the textile business for many years until he retired in 2001.

Nick joined the staff in September 2002 as a part-time front desk receptionist. He is responsible for answering phones, assisting clients, processing CTS forms, and distributing mail. back to staff index

Mary Monreal
Administrative Manager

Mary joined the staff in April 1997 as Office Manager. She is responsible for the overall effective functioning of TMCC including supervision and evaluation of the front desk staff, oversees the physical plant and equipment maintenance, and is staff liaison for all outside vendors and suppliers. Mary also works as the administrative assistant to the Clinical and Assistant Clinical Directors. Mary is married with two children.

Millie Rafalow
Clinical Secretary

Millie has been with the Center since November 1974 and has watched the Center grow and change over the years. She was the sole full-time secretary for all the Center's administrative details and programs for many years and has helped to keep the staff organized and the Center running smoothly. With the growth of the Center and the increase of the secretarial load, she has become the clinical secretary assisting with the burgeoning clinical program at the Center. Millie has three grown children and three beautiful grandchildren.

Shana Savis
Front Desk Receptionist

Shana Savis has been a receptionist at the center for over a year. She is currently a student at Santa Monica College, and hopes to transfer to USC’s business school in 2009. She grew up in Beverly Hills and attended Beverly Hills high school, and loves to be involved with such a great non-profit organization.

Judy Wu
Assistant Coordinator, Crisis Response Team (CRT)

As Assistant Coordinator of the CRT, Judy responds to calls from police, sheriff and fire departments by providing support to survivors and witnesses of traumatic events, dispatching team members to the scene of a crisis and supervising team members in the community. She also manages theadministrative responsibilities for the CRT. Judy is concurrently working towards her Marriage and Family Therapy license through internships at TMCC and the California Family Counseling Center.
