Group therapy can be a potent and transformative addition to individual therapy, as well as a rich, healing experience in itself. In addition to helping with feelings of isolation, anxiety, and depression, group therapy helps enrich lives by creating an environment in which participants can:
- Work on new skills and behaviors
- Get valuable feedback in real time
- Bring new insights and questions to help interpersonal growth of self and others
Led by skilled clinical trainees and associates who are receiving special training and supervision in group therapy, the group provides an LGBT-affirming, safe, and confidential place for gay men to explore a variety of issues both general and specific to our community, including:
- Difficult feelings about self and others
- Recovery from self-sabotaging behaviors
- Shame and internalized homophobia
