VOLUNTEER

Join us in promoting the wellbeing of your community! We welcome your talents, life experiences, and positive regard for others while helping men, women, and children face some of life’s more difficult situations. The programs listed below will allow you to learn and develop personally while making a significant positive impact on the lives of many.

CLILNICAL SUPERVISORS

Our cadre of over 100 highly skilled, professional Volunteer Clinical Supervisors are the mainstay of Maple Counseling’s center-based and community mental health programs.

Qualifications for becoming a Volunteer Clinical Supervisor at Maple Counseling:

  • Must be licensed for at least two years (LMFT, LMSW, PhD, PsyD)
  • 1 hour of volunteer clinical supervision per week with two interns (triadic supervision)
  • Complete an evaluation of the two trainees twice per year
  • For LMFT and LMSW volunteers, they must complete a 6-hour course in supervision theory as required by California law. Maple Counseling pays a stipend of up to $75 to cover the cost of this course. (PhD and PsyD are exempt.)

If interested, please contact Marianne Callahan, PhD, LMFT, Clinical Director at mcallahan@tmcc.org for more information.

THE COMMUNITY CIRCLE

Community Circle is Maple Counseling’s longest running program for almost 50-years and a highly-regarded, 100% volunteer-led community gem. Community Circle volunteers work with hundreds of elementary school youth in multiple schools within the Beverly Hills Unified School District and the Los Angeles Unified School District. The program is offered weekly for each classroom in the program. Volunteers support students with social-emotional development, teaching how to discuss the needs of others and oneself in a safe and confidential setting in order to promote mutual respect.
